SECURIA , a new type of elevator security camera, provides an effective deterrent against crime and vandalism inside elevators. It employs a leading-edge recording system, utilizing a hard disk rather than the conventional video tape. This ensures stable image and sound quality. This is also free from such drawbacks as degradation over time and blurred playback images that are inherent in video tapes. A highly sophisticated "human sensor" incorporated in the camera unit detects the movement of passengers, effectively recording their images and sounds for a preset duration of several seconds before and after detection of human movement, together with the time and date information.
